Boi Boi Thai Food
At Boi Boi Amsterdam we try to bring authentic Thai and Laos style (street) food to Amsterdam. Our chief worked for 10 years at the famous Bird restaurant on the Zeedijk. After his bold move to start actually selling his own recipes in the Thai style on food markets around the city of Amsterdam straight from his Vespa Ape, he felt this is what he wanted. Cook in the style his grandmother taught him and stay as close to his native tastes, spices and ways of preparing as possible.
In July 2015 he finally opened his first Thai restaurant "Boi Boi" meaning -very often. Not in the center of the city of Amsterdam, that got flooded by tourists, but on the most famous street market of this town in the East part of town, the Dappermarkt. The exact address being Pieter Vlamingstraat 56.
His inspiration and admiration are straight from the heroes of the Bangkok streetfood scene. He loves the pure and real ways of preparing, unlike many other cooks who get more inspired by chichi cooks using new technologies or making fusion food to please the local audience.
